Description
Glacier View Lodge is a not for profit long term care site operated by Glacier View Lodge Society. The Lodge is licensed to provide care to adults, 19 years of age and older, through the Community Care and Assisted Living Act. The Lodge is funded through Island Health. Glacier View Lodge offers several programs and services, largely to seniors of the Comox Valley, such as an Adult Day Program, a Respite bed and Community Bathing Program.
Our vision is to create a “community of care where people can thrive” that feels like home. In addition to providing nursing care, and a wide range of hospitality services, we offer a wide range of programs and opportunities intended to enhance social engagement and meaningful activity.
We contract the services of many different clinicians who offer services to our residents. These include, but are not limited to a Medical Director, Pharmacy, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Music Therapist, Dental Hygienist and Foot Care Nurse.
We involve many different groups and individuals in our community. We welcome families to become active participants in our community. Individual volunteers provide a wide range of services from visitation, pet visitation, outing assistance and much more. Community groups support us with faith services, live music, incorporation of children’s groups and more. Still others support our fundraising through the Auxiliary to Glacier View Lodge and the Fund Development Community, and all is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors.
