LGBTQ2+-inclusive This icon signifies that a seniors' living or wellness organization considers itself to be LGBTQ2+-inclusive and commits to having:
- Foundational and on-going training and education on working with older adults who identify as LGBTQ2+.This should include education which is built into the organization’s on-boarding process.
- A system in place to review forms, policies and procedures and address any overt or covert discrimination or marginalization (e.g., binary gender options).
- Hiring and employment efforts to ensure that the organization’s staff reflect the diversity of the community being served.
- A visible statement of support for the LGBTQ2+ community. This can include a mandate, a client rights statement or anti-discrimination policy.
- An accessible mechanism for input from LGBTQ2+ clients, including programming, quality of care etc.
- A system in place which allows the organization to proactively address incidents or experiences of discrimination or marginalization should they occur.

ABOUT
CareToCall is a virtual assisted living service allowing users to create a daily circle of care amongst their family and friends. It’s a pro-active way to help people look after one other, allowing seniors to age in place and remain independent as long as possible.
Users subscribe online, completing a private profile listing where, when and how often they would like to receive a personally recorded reminder to take their medication, a heads up regarding an upcoming appointment, or a reassurance (just checking in) phone call. If no one answers the phone (or if the call goes to voice mail or an answering service), the call is automatically forwarded to the person at the top of the CareToCall client’s prioritized list of family and friends.
When a loved one is not answering their phone, they may need help. Rather than staying out of contact when they could be needed, family and friends can follow up in person right away or contact a trusted neighbor, or the front desk of their loved one’s retirement community, and ask someone to check up on them.
By putting this private network of caregivers in place, CareToCall provides our clients the freedom and comfort of regular communication they can count on every day, or multiple times a day (for medication reminders), allowing them to remain independent. And family members rest easy knowing there is a regular communication schedule in place, ensuring they keep in touch with their loved one, even on the busiest of days.
